Hauck Sport Buggy - Review

Hi everyone!

On a shopping trip to Aldi recently I noticed they had buggies for sale for half price at only €15 each.  I walked by and thought that perhaps they weren't great quality and that's why they were so cheap.  But after a week of thinking about it I just couldn't resist buying it! €15 for a brand new buggy is pretty amazing! I just had to find out what they were like! I am so glad i did!

I have a very small boot (trunk) in my car and its hard to find a buggy that fits nicely inside with the parcel shelf still fitting ( bar umbrella folding strollers - but even these are a tight squeeze lengthways).  I was shocked at how small this buggy folds up, length and widthways.  It has small wheels and folds to almost flat.   It is also super lightweight which makes it even easier to get in and out of the car.

It has a sturdy latch to prevent it from opening which is not stiff or difficult to open with one hand.

It has a 5 point harness that's easy to click in.  They aren't those stiff squared old fashioned clips which hurt like crazy when you catch your finger in them (we've all done it !) and they have button release.

The buggy has an adjustable foot rest and a front safety bar which is covered in the same easy to clean fabric as the rest of the buggy.  Personally i don't like the sponge safety bars which are difficult to clean and easy to chew!!

There is a reasonably large shopping basket at the bottom considering the size of the buggy.

And the brake is simple and easy to use with just the push of your foot.
This buggy is suitable from birth as it fully reclines with an adjustable strap and squeeze and clip motion.  It fold ups in one swift movement by just raising the 2 side clips.
It doesn't come with a rain cover but single universal rain covers are pretty cheap online.

So overall this buggy is a big hit and I cannot get over the fact it was only €15!
I would definitely recommend it ! So quick go to Aldi before they're all gone!
Here it is again !

Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Hi everyone !!

It's Mother's Day here in Ireland this coming Sunday (the 15th March) and since I love doing arts and crafts I like to make little gifts with the children for their mum at this time of year!

I know Mother's Day isn't until May for some people but if you're celebrating it this weekend or in a few months here are some cute craft ideas to make!!!

This is what we did last year for the girl's mum's birthday.  It's a lovely simple craft that small toddlers can do but that older children will also enjoy and would make a great Mother's Day gift. Painting pasta and then threading it onto some string to make a necklace.  We also made a bracelet but I have no picture of that!

For Valentines Day this year we made little bouquets of "heart flowers" for both sets of grandparents.  I cut out heart shapes and the girls decorated them with pieces of lace and ribbon, I then taped them onto the top of straws and tied them together with ribbon. The grandparents loved them!

This is what the girls made their parents for Valentines Day.  I cut out a bow shape, which the girls again decorated with lace and ribbon.   I used a heart shape to write the message on and I taped a straw to the back for the "holder"

It was Grandma's birthday a few days after Valentines so me and the girls made her a flower picture using their handprints.  I love how this turned out so I bought a frame for it!
All these things were made for Valentines or birthdays but they would work just as well for Mother's Day too!

Now we're on to what we actually made this year for Mother's day!  For the card we made potted hand print flowers.  The girls absolutely love glueing and sticking so they decorated their pots with the ribbon and lace!  I then drew around their hands on purple paper and they stuck on some material flowers.

All put together it looks like this !!

For the gift I decided to make little thumbprints out of polymer clay (fimo) and attach them to a necklace.  I used to make jewellery so I have lots of spare necklaces lying around unused, but if you wanted to do this a super cheap necklace from Primark or the equivalent would work just as well!  I just love how these turned out! I used an old necklace box to present it in and I just know she's going to LOVE it when she opens it! A little gift from them that will last forever!

I hope this post gave you some ideas :)

Thanks for stopping by...

What's in my nappy/diaper bag.....

Hey everyone !

So first of all, the nappy bag I'm using at the moment is the Pacapod Napier in Moonstone.  Here's what it looks like.

It is by far the best nappy bag that I have ever used, and believe me I have tried out ALOT of nappy bags!!!!

The thing that i love most about this bag is, its "pods".  I love how it has a " feeder pod" and a "changer pod"  so they can easily be grabbed if they need to without having to take the whole bag!
I've always been a fan of grab bags but these pods fit so much in to them, unlike any grab bag that I've ever had which you'd be lucky to fit more than a few nappies and wipes in !!

So first lets look at the "feeder pod".....  In here I always carry 2 sippy cups, either empty or with water already in them and then snacks appropriate for the journey we're taking.  This day we just popped out to the library in the morning so we had some rice cakes and raisins in here.  But we have gone out for entire days and I have managed to fill this pod with all their food plus snacks for me aswell !  I also have in here some Tommee Tippee Antibacterial soother and teether wipes, not for soothers or teeters but to wipe down any surfaces or if their cups get dropped in the mud somewhere (lets face it, it does happen !!)

Next onto the "changer pod"  This has the basics for changing nappies inside! Spare nappies, wipes, the changing pad, nappy sacks, some anti bac hand gel and some vaseline !

There are 2 pockets on the back, one zipped and one with a magnetic popper.  In the zipped compartment i keep my phone and i also have some Disney Princess playing cards in the little elasticated pockets!

The other pocket usually holds more antibac hand gel as it can be accessed very quickly, tissues and my keys!

The main section of the bag has a zip to close it and can fit a large amount considering the pods in the front of the bag.  In here I keep an entire spare outfit for both girls and my purse.  But of course on longer journeys and trips out I would add a few toys or books into this section !

Attached to the side of my bag is my buggy clip!  I never go anywhere without this! i love it for holding shopping bags when we're out with the stroller !!  I got this clip for just €7 in Harvey Normans of all places!!

So thats my nappy bag!!!  I definitely recommend it !

New Playroom!

When I came back to work after Christmas there was a lovely surprise waiting for me!!!

Before this all the toys were up at the top of the kitchen/dining room.  It's a very big room, so it wasn't cramped or anything but because it was a large room when it was a cold day it was very hard to keep it warm.  So now all the toys are in this little playroom and its so snuggly and cosy in there .

There was also a lot of new stuff that they bought especially for the playroom, for instance the reading corner roof, the easel and the big tent!

It may not seem like exciting news, but I thought it was !!!!

Wedding Anniversary !

It was the girl's parents 4th Wedding Anniversary this week, so I decided to do some cute and fun crafts with the girls !

First they made them a gorgeous card each.  I gave them lace, ribbon and material to stick onto a piece on lemon coloured card.  They both did a fab job!  I then stuck these pieces onto an a4 piece of card and folded it into an actual card.  The girls signed their names inside (!!!!!!)

We then went to the shop and bought large bars of chocolate (white and milk) and we broke them up and melted them .

We transferred the melted chocolate into my mini silicone heart moulds and put them in the fridge to set.  I found a little glass jar in the euro general shop for only €1, so i tied a pretty ribbon around its neck and filled it with the chocolate hearts!!  It looked so pretty and the girls parents loved it !!!

A very late Christmas Post!!!

Oh my goodness I know I'm late !! But i just had to share the Christmas crafts we made to hang up over Christmas !

The girls loved making them all and their parents have saved them all to hang up again next Christmas!!

These are our Santas !  We made these first before the Christmas decorations were up and they just LOVED them, and kept waving hello to Santa !!

Christmas trees, with fluffy bobbles stuck on and coloured in gifts underneath!!

Our snowmen !!! I crocheted them real scarves which the children got so excited about!

Rudolph!  The girls made one each but i only have a picture of one !

Angels!!
